Hi. I like to Ramble...

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK!!! Obviously this is when I talk about HP 7.5 and how much I loved it. I actually cried in the movie theatre. This is only the 2nd movie I cried during so that's saying a lot. In case you care the first was Marley and Me. I mean c'mon the dog dies! Anyway... it was a bittersweet moment watching my childhood end I mean watching the newest HP film. I went to the midnight showing with my friend Sam wearing my Gryffindor sweatshirt. So trying to stop before I give away any fantasticness. If you haven't seen it see it! In fact I'm probs gonna see it again before it leaves theatres :D.
Yep still keeping mega busy. Monday through Fridays interning. For my solo I'm trying to sing "Everybody Loves Louis" from Sunday in the Park with George. It's crazy and totally Sondheim. It's really difficult but I get to eat cake at the end! This week marks a camp performance so if you're around check me and my campers out! Then Tuesdays and Wednesdays I have dance <3.  Tuesdays and most Thursdays and Saturdays I work out like you know pumping iron ;). And in between all this I'm trying to work on college apps including my essay and maintain a rigorous social life. Participating in things like Starbucks runs, firework observing, and even line dancing.
However this Sunday I had to skip the Colorado since I voyaged out to PA to visit Aunt Karen! Aunt Karen graciously let my mother and I stay the night to avoid waking up ridiculously early. I even tried on Aunt Karen's abaya which is sort of like a burqa. There are pictures but let's go with I'm not technologically savvy enough to post them here. Uncle Joe is currently working in Saudi Arabia and pretty soon Aunt Karen has to go back. She sounds really sad about living there. She's not even allowed to drive! And there isn't really a lot she can do to entertain herself. She's hoping to have better internet when she goes back but they're really strict over there. She can't even have Listerine since it's made with alcohol. She can't bring scrabble because it's a game of chance. Seriously it makes me appreciate my American lifestyles and liberties more not to get all patriotic on you guys.
Today I visited another college, Franklin &Marshall. So gorgeous. Super nice. It's about 3 hours from home in NJ, not too shabby. I definitely got a good vibe from the school like it's a place I'd fit in. I'm kinda sleepy about colleges so I don't know what else to say. It's another small Liberal arts school in PA, just like the other schools I'm applying to. They're all kinda similar.
On other fronts I got my other AP grade for Language and Composition and I did better than I thought I would :). I finished reading the Kite Runner. It was so good! I watched "The Invention of Lying" I love Indie films. Like not faking my way to being a hipster, I legit love them. This one was really funny at some points. It was recommended to me by a friend who always gives really good recommendations, but never takes mine! Yes, I know you'll read this at some point...watch, the stupid videos and by stupid I mean life changing and supermegafoxyawesomehot.
So that's what is new with me not much but hopefully enough.

Shalomies my Homies!

Monday was America's birthday. Like any good American woman I spent my time making food for other people. My food got good reviews so yay for the cult of domesticity! I watched some fireworks and got some Starbucks and called it a day. Tuesday was my first dance class! I showed up in my brand new convertible tights (for nondancers that means they can be worn over the toe or rolled up) and leotard. I was so nervous! The class was kind of hard because everyone in the class is WAY more experienced than I am, but I pushed through and enjoyed it. This week I'll be going back for more jazz and the start of tap!!!  Then after dance my friend Rob picked me up and we chilled :D. We watched some How I Met Your Mother, I love that show.  Wednesday I got delicious Red Mango with Sam and Emma. This kid from school was behind me in a line and didn't say hi! I mean I'm totally the kind of girl you'd want to say hi to in a froyo shop right? Thursday I had a voice lesson and a workout you know the usual. Fast forward to Friday! I woke up on Friday to very good news! I got a 5 on my AP History test! After an entire year of working my butt of I guess it paid off. I did cry the night before the exam nbd, But yay college credit here I come! My parents are so proud. Friday was the performance for the camp I intern at. It was surprisingly stressful, but still really fun. My solo was "People" from Funny Girl. Apparently my dad was sobbing in the audience haha he's really nostalgic about that show. Monday starts a new session of camp so new kids, new songs, new fun! After Friday's performance I was desperate to hang out with people my own age. I threw on a high waisted skirt and cardigan over my leotard (it was a really cute outfit btw) and met up with Sam and Emma at Dan's house. Saturday I woke up and finally finished that week's SYTYCD. I love that show, but it's so time consuming! Then I went to work out! It was a really good one; we did mostly simple exercises but very quickly. Then I went home and printed stuff for my big college binder to get ready for applications. Fun right? My friend Nicole picked me up at 4 for an early dinner at Tito's burritos. Then my friend Sonya was performing with her band so we went to go support them! The band was registered as Timequake (stupid name) but is known by their fans as Shalom Dragon (awesome name). Highlights of the event: My friends winning 2nd place!!! (I'm so proud!), finding my friend Rob's doppelganger (semi curly brown hair, tall and skinny, khaki shorts, black ray-bans and all), and then in the last band they went crazy and their attractive lead singer would stand atop the drum set and walk around barefoot (every time he took his shoes off Sonya and I would follow suit in support) but the best part was when their guitar player knocked over his amp, smashed his guitar on the ground, and dove into the drum kit. Everyone in the audience was wide eyed with hand covered mouths. To celebrate the victory of the Shalomies we went to the dinner. I sat on the bro side of the table (cause I'm a bro) and shared mozzarella sticks with Ben since I wasn't that hungry. Yep and now I'm here. True. Story.

A photo copy machine named Nicholas

This week marked my first week of work...ever! My job is actually pretty sweet. I intern at a musical theatre camp at a studio in town. I only get paid if I stay for aftercare but during the day unless I have work I'm pretty much taking classes for free. Most of my duties concern lunch time supervision, but I also do things like running activities and making photo copies. An explanation of the title: Ariel, a fellow intern, and I were making photo copies, we quickly became bored so we decided to name the copier Nicholas. He's our friend. One highlight of the week was explaining Anorexia to a 4th grader. Yes, love those kids. Friday is the camp performance so I'll be dancing with 4 year olds, but also singing a solo that I've been working on. The family who owns the studio and everyone who works there are super nice and the internship is a great opportunity to get work experience. Tuesday I had a super hard work out. I had to do 25 sets of stairs and it was timed so I was sprinting up and down those stupid stairs giving myself an asthma attack...fun, thanks Johnny. It's okay because at Thursday's work out Johnny was punched in the face by Sara! They had a long standing agreement that when Sara lost 100 lbs. she could punch him in the face. Well she did (I'm so, so, so, proud!) and she didn't hit him hard but that was okay it was still amusing. Wednesday I got a pedicure and Japanese food with Nicole! It was pretty fun. I ended up with blue toenails and a happy tummy. I watched so many movies this weekend :D Friday, I finished watching (500) Days of Summer with Sonya and Victor. I don't know how I can love a movie so much but also hate the ending so much! Saturday I hipstered out and watched Zooey Deschanel Indie flicks (and now I'm blogging about it even more cred). The first one was called The Good Girl. The main character was played by Jennifer Aniston. It's a really emotional movie at one point I had no clue what outcome I wanted for the characters I just wanted things to be better for the characters. Then I made it a double feature and watched All the Real Girls this one starred Ms. Deschanel. Can I take a moment to talk about how much I love her? Total girl crush. No shame. I think I want to get bangs like hers. She was really good in this movie! I also really liked the style of the film. The endings kind of ambiguous, I was left assuming what the character was going to do and hoping I understood him well enough. Then today I watched The Adjustment Bureau. Really a fantastic film. Great performance by Matt Damon! Emily Blunt was good...but she's Michael Buble's ex so I can never really like her. BTW HAPPY Birthday AMERICA! My plans involve cooking for the party at my house :) 1st real week of Summer and so far so good!
