From down in the dumps upward!

Well Tuesday sucked. I don't want to blog about why Tuesday sucked, but it did. Wednesday was a little better. I had my choir concert which went pretty well. It was really funny because we sang this very fast Filipino song and I looked at the audience and they were just like, "What's going on here?" Thursday is what I liked to call Dance Day! It was the day of my dance audition for Hairspray and the season premiere of So You Think You Can Dance. In the morning I listened to A Chorus Line to get me in the zone (I know. I'm so cool, right?) Before all this went down I went to the oral surgeon for my postop check up. I have holes in my mouth now...they kinda scare me. I have a little plastic syringe thing that I use to squirt water at the holes to clean them out. That part is really gross. After visiting the Doc, I went to Starbucks. EPIC WIN: I ordered a grande NF Iced Chai Latte, and they accidentally made a VENTI!!! I was so happy :D. Then I went and rocked my dance audition nbd. Seriously though, best dance audition ever. I even learned how to mashed potato! Then I stayed and read a scene. My group was really awkward. I read for Amber! Mrs. Vontussel was an awkward middle aged woman. And Link (my character's boyfriend) was a small 14ish year old girl. But, I still think I did a good job in my scene. I got a haircut Friday. Nothing special just more layers. Friday night I watched Remember Me. I kinda mocked R-Patts through out the movie, he just makes it kinda easy. Saturday night I had some friends over and made pies! When I was rolling the pie dough I played "Worst Pies in London" from Sweeney Todd. SO LEGIT! Then this one teenage girl decided to do what teenage girls do best, start drama. Ugh, so annoying. But whatever. Sunday, I went to the mall with Abby. I was looking for a dress to wear to a sweet 16, but didn't find one I wanted to buy. I bought a ton of other stuff though :). Including hot pink wayfarers ala Darren Criss to wear to Glee in concert!!! Then I went out for dinner for my brother's birthday. This morning I woke up and marched in a parade. Like most parades it was hot and uncomfortable. As a rising section leader slash section leader who will most likely be captain I led the parade. I got sunburn on my shoulders gotta put some aloe on that. During the parade I really wanted pancakes so after the parade I got pancakes for lunch. Dream come true! Then I went to the mall with my mom and got  a bathing suit. It's polka dotted. Oh my gosh, I want to go to the beach soooo badly! And now I'm just procrastinating doing work for Japanese class that I should have done a week ago when I missed school for my wisdom teeth. Oh I saw a trailer today for a movie I want to see SO BADLY. It stars my future husband Joseph Gordon Levitt <3 <3 <3! So guess where I'm going to be September 30th? Here's the link to the trailer! http://www.50-50themovie.com/ Peace out Girl Scouts!

:( Crap

So I'm writing this blog now because I'm way to emotional and I'm trying to avoid crying. This pot is not going to be in chronological order at all just so you know. Sorry think of it like Benjamin Button...only not. So I just got back from auditions and it sucked. I hate audition, but even more than auditions I hate bad auditions. Background info: The audition was for a summer production of Hairspray, I really wanted Amber or Tammy or another teen council member (there goes that dream), I sang "Baby, Dream Your Dream" from Sweet Charity and it sucked. I mean it wasn't bad per se, but it wasn't good it was ehhh. Every other time I practiced my song it sounded so effing good, but of course when it actually mattered I screwed it up. I mean it didn't help that the auditioners didn't look at me throughout my entire audition. I'm used to steely gazed totally concentrated judges. I was just really surprised that the director looked up maybe once. I wanted to clap my hands just to get their attention. And then I was so distracted by all that crap that at the end I got all breathy ugh kill me now. And while I know that everyone thinks their auditions are bad I'm actually trying to be objective which in this case means stating that I'm mediocre.
On the plus side I survived wisdom teeth removal :) I watched almost 12 movies (if you care: Charlie St. Cloud, Funny Girl, Hello Dolly, Morning Glory, The Prestige, XMen 2, XMen 3, My Best Friend's Wedding, The last 20 minutes or so of The Fog of War, and the last half of Guys and Dolls). After my reduced diet my abs are looking better than usual ;). I was uber happy on Saturday because I got a surprise visitor in the form of one of my best buddies, Rob. He brought me watermelon Italian ice, flowers, and a homemade card :D. Then we played Truth or Dare using my lame itouch app. I still have 5 truths and 1 dare to plague him with. Any ideas? We also made a slapbet on the world ending ala How I met your Mother on if the world would end. Since the world did not end I have 4 free opportunities to slap my dear Rob in the future. I used my first at 6:01 haha. Oh, but then I got crap from several people today because some people don't understand the whole just friends thing. I love interrogations...NOT. I'm starting to stop taking my pain meds and instead switch to advil. well,it was fun while it lasted. Today I went to school and got back to work with a slightly less toothy grin. Just kidding I sucked it up with a nonchalant attitude wishing I was at home sleeping and doing prescription drugs.

Good bye Wisdom teeth D:

Yesterday was a day full of drugs woohoo! Totally legal though because they took my wisdom teeth out. Yes, I did cry in the operation chair. I was really scared my jaw was going to get messed up and I wouldn't be able to sing on Monday. One of the nurses told me to stop crying so I could enjoy the laughing gas haha! And enjoyed it I did at one point the nurse sounded like she was repeating herself so i laughed at her. Then of course I passed out. I'm pretty sre when I woke up I was humming my audition song at least I heard one of the nurses say I was singing. I actually don't feel that bad. Like it hurts a little but I didn't really swell up that much. Sorry to disapoint those who wanted pics if me looking more chipmunky than usual. I then watched Charlie St. Cloud. Zac Efron was very comforting to me in my time of need :). My friends Emma, Isabelle, and Abby brought me a green tea soy frappuchino. It was so good! It actually made me feel a lot better. Then after some time I decided to watch Funny Girl, fantastic. My mom and brother brought me a ton of red mango frozen yogurt to last me a while. It's banana, strawberry, and chocolate and delicious. And that was pretty much the first day of my wisdom teeth ordeal. I woke up in the middle of the night around 1 or 2 took some pain meds and iced my face while watchin Wizards of Waverly Place. Yep, that's what getting wisdom teeth out is really all about.

And I love the Caberet!

On Monday I watched this musical thing on youtube called Starship it's from a theatre group called starkids. They also made A Very Potter Musical aka the story of my life. (Can you say "The headmaster Rumbleroar, he's a lion...who can talk!"). This a great time to transition into Glee. Why you may ask. Because Darren Criss (<3 x infinity) starred as HP in AVPM and now plays Blaine on Glee! I have the biggest crush on him. This week on Glee marked the return of Jonathan Groff. I. Love. Jonathan Groff. He has the most gorgeous voice listen to anything from Spring Awakening and you'll know what I mean. But seriously when he started singing I actually started cheering and fan girl swooning. And yes, I know he's gay :/ On a happier note, Wednesday was my voice recital. It was Disney themed so I sang Cruella Deville. I got really into dressing up. I wore a white dress with black polka dots and some killer red high heels. Everyone said I did a really great job! I even had strangers complimenting me :D. And Ms. Kirkland put me 2nd to last in the order which means that she really liked how I sounded on my song (jazz choir auditions here I come!) On Thursday my SAT tutor came for a surprise lesson meaning no one ever wrote it down on the family calender so  that wasn't good. And now it's Saturday and I thought we had a session and he's now not here. It's kinda confusing. I have a really good tutor though. His name's Mr.Pheysey and he's a total geek! He even march Drum Corps so he makes everything a band reference. Friday was mega fun! I now have a new voice teacher! Her name is Mrs. Wilkens and she teaches from her home in Summit. We worked on my audition piece(s) for my upcoming Hairspray audition. I still haven't decided officially but now I'm leaning towards one :). Yeah but she seems like a really good teacher. I saw both songbooks for Legally Blond and the Scarlet Pimpernel, very good omens. I also went out for Indian food for the first time...yum! After dinner we played scattergories at my friend Dan's house (I won!). Other than those details the most exciting part of my life is 1/2 price frappuchino week at Starbucks. I've had 4 this week nbd....

Is this a life or a menagerie?

Friday was my APUSH test!!! I think I did pretty well! Multiple choice I wasn't to worried about because I did really well on practice exams. And the essay prompts were pretty good. The DBQ was glorious. I really hope I did well, I mean it's not so much about the grade as it is about the ridiculous amount of work that went into preparing for that exam. Confession: I cried a little the night before the test because I was so stressed out about the test. In summary, my fav part of the test was sealing the packet with the little secrecy stickers. Then Friday was mine and Sara's (she's my nanny of sorts...it's a weird hard to describe relationship) 9th anniversary! We went to the mall to buy Sara clothes and I got my first frappuchino of Starbuck's 1/2 price frappuchino week :D. I also went on one of rants about how I don't think I'm pretty because boys don't like me. And I know I shouldn't evaluate myself based on inconsistent boys and that the media sets unrealistic standards for teenage girls and blar blar blar but it's hard when most of friends are taller and/or skinnier than you. Then Saturday I did SAT subject test...even more bubbles to fill in yay! I took my Literature one first. I didn't study that one at all and kinda just did it for the hell of it. Basically they make you read a bunch of trippy passages and answer questions on them. And then I did History the questions are much more straight forward than the AP test (What was the Emancipation Proclamation vs. Inception mind trap question). Then I worked on my Japanese project with Sonya and Courtney. It's on かんきょう or the environment. It's a pretty embarrassing/awkward/cute/educational video. Then Saturday night I went to see Water for Elephants. Everyone from NP was there coincidentally. It was a pretty good movie, I enjoyed it. I still think Reese Witherspoon wasn't a good choice. She's nothing like how I imagined the character...but whatever. This week is going to be really exciting Glee season finale Tuesday, I'm failing my AP Lang & Comp test on Wednesday (2 here I come!), have my voice recital Wednesday night (I'm singing Cruella Deville and I bought a new dress and shoes for the occasion), my first voice lesson with my new teacher on Friday as well as the much anticipated Disney sleepover with Nicole and Sonya, and maybe even some line dancing on Sunday!

So it goes...

I'm in a very Kurt Vonngut mood recently, hence the title (and my new quote of the extended period of time that is yet to be determined). I like KV because discussing him gives me major hipster cred. Today I had lunch with Emma, Sam, and Lesia...I dressed up as a hipster for the journey to Panera. Oxfords, ripped skinny jeans, purple v-neck, hipster scarf, and my teal wayfarers. Oh and now I'm blogging! Yeah, you wish you were this hipster. Ah yes but exciting things in my not so exciting life. On Friday Mama Nat and I drove out to Gettysburg so on Saturday we could look at Gettysburg College. The exciting part is that I really liked the school! First off the town is really cool, they have all these random historical reenactments, my kind of town. The campus was absolutely gorgeous, its scores classify it somewhere near my "target school range", it's a small school (mucho importante) and their bleachers are orange (Sonya's favorite color!). After leaving the school my mom drove me to the battlefield and I took pictures for my photography class hopefully the negatives come out fingers crossed. If all goes well I'll have lots of cool pictures of cannons :D...but the photographic process hates me so probably not D:...so fingers crossed. Also today I watched the King's Speech. As someone who overcame a speech impediment I found it quite inspiring. But in my case three years of torturous speech therapy paid off. And in this movie's case Helana Bonham Carter's performance was pure magic. It was also nice seeing Dumbledore as king... And today I found a voice teacher!!! So the funny story is that I had a voice teacher but then she moved to NYC without telling me so I've been teacherless since Christmas.. sounds funny right? But now with audition season coming up I began a quest, a quest that ended today. I'm scheduled for my first voice lesson Friday the 13th same day as my Disney sleepover with Nicole and Sonya. Looks like my unlucky day is shaping up! Okay at this point you're probably drooling on your keyboard out of pure boredom and to save your computer from permanent damage I'll end my post now.
